Product Review: Muzzy Broadheads I spent a lot of time over the past year researching broadheads and deciding what I would use on my elk hunt this year. In fact, much of my time at the AMO show last January was spent looking at the endless variety of broadheads available today. A number of broadheads came home with me from Nashville. And, after compiling my research, shooting various broadheads, and asking many respected archers their opinion, I settled on the Muzzy, 3-blade, 125 grain heads. TUNING: One of the aspects I liked most about the Muzzy heads was the ease in tuning. After working for a short time with the Pine Ridge Arrow Inspector, I was able to have a dozen arrows perfectly tuned. Most impressively, the extra effort enabled me to hunt without changing my sight settings. Due to the strict tolerances in the product, there was very little discrepancy between broadheads. PENETRATION: I arrowed my elk from sixty yards shooting only 239 feet per second with nearly 55 pounds of kinetic energy. Even at this range, the Muzzy gained complete penetration through both sides of the rib cage, although not a complete pass-through. DEVASTATION: The almost 900-pound elk traveled only 30 yards after being hit. Shot placement was good as the arrow cut through the bottom of the heart. CONFIDENCE: Due to the broadheads tuning so well along with the outstanding performance demonstrated on this hunt, I have the utmost confidence in the Muzzy heads. To me, confidence is the most important aspect in broadhead selection and at this point, I will continue to use Muzzy broadheads until I find something better. Needless to say, I could not have been more pleased with the Muzzy broadheads. If you are in the process of choosing a broadhead for your next hunt, give Muzzy a try, and I hope you experience the same success I did.
