Making the Perfect
Camp Site
In
my many outdoors adventures I have discovered several ways to make that perfect
campsite. No
matter if you pitching a tent or in a motor home there are things that you can
do to make your campsite a nice place to spend your weekend or a week in the
great Arizona outdoors. 1.
If you are planning on doing any cooking by coals such as cooking steak,
chicken, or hamburgers on the grill. Make a fire ring in a horseshoe shape. The
open end will allow you to shovel coals at ease. 2.
If there are enough trees, run a rope between them through the middle of
your camp. You can hang a lantern, towels or wet clothes on it. 3.
Buy a 2 gallon pressurized water sprayer and keep it close to your
campfire. You can use it in case the fire gets out of the ring. (And if the kids
get frisky it makes a good water gun.) 4.
If you are pitching a tent make sure to stake it down per instructions. I
have seen plenty of tents torn apart by sudden windstorms. 5.
Pack all your food and cooking items in one of those big plastic boxes.
They are waterproof and will help keep your camp organized. 6.
Make sure to keep your trash up high. So the critters don’t invade you
camp.
