CHEVRONS

Chevrons are metal tab's about three Inches Square, that are tacked to tree's along the trail, usually six to eight feet above the ground.

The ones I have seen have been white or silver, but they also could be red or orange. Some tree's will have two chevrons, this indicates either that another trail connects the tail you on, or that there is a sharp bend in your trail, take a minute to study the trail when you find a tree with two cheveron's I have also seen waypoints for GPS on some chevrons. Have a safe and happy hike and remember if you pack it in pack it out
