CREEL QUERYS AT LAKE PLEASANT Fishermen on the water at Lake Pleasant can expect to be contacted by creel clerks gathering harvest data. A four-year research study is being conducted in an effort to determine impacts, both positive and negative, from the raising of the Waddell Dam in 1994. A two-year study was conducted prior to 1994 to provide a base line for future comparisons. In addition, biologists will be conducting surveys with nets and electro-shocking equipment to look at a number of variables like nutrient loading in the water. They will be using the results of these studies to determine if the Bureau of Reclamation needs to do any mitigation to off-set the impacts from increasing the lake size from 3,500 surface acres to 10,000 surface acres.
