The first netting survey for 2001 was completed at Apache Lake the evening of Feb.5th. 26 Walleye were caught in 10 nets that were pulled after 2 hours to reduce fatalities. Only 3 walleyes died, so this seems to be a much better method than leaving the nets out over night.
Canyon Lake was scheduled for a survey Feb. 12th and Saguaro for Feb. 19th. They plan to repeat the surveys every 2 months.
