Hunts. As the name implies, we have hunts for the great North American
Bison, but don’t stop there… we also have outstanding hunts for
Whitetail deer and Rio Grande turkey. We are located upon the Callahan
Divide just south of Abilene, Texas.

premier archery and black powder big game hunts for these species in the
nation. You will be happy to know that big game hunting on Buffalo
Mountain Ranch is restricted to archery and black-powder equipment
only. We
allow modern smokeless powder shotguns for hunting turkey, quail, dove
and varmints, of course.

Our
Hunting Manager, Rick Worley an accomplished archer and bowhunter, is
available to answer your questions, and to help you set up your
hunt. If you are putting together a larger group of folks to come hunt
with us, please let us know, so we can offer you something special.
OUR
OPPORTUNITY GUARANTEE: DEER AND TURKEY: If for whatever
reason there exists a lack of A sufficient opportunity for a hunter who
has purchased from Buffalo Mountain Hunts a deer or turkey hunt for
taking a reasonable shot upon the subject big game, and for such reason
the hunter fails to take a shot at an animal during a three-day deer or
turkey hunt purchased from Buffalo Mountain Hunts, Buffalo Mountain
Hunts will provide to that hunter AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE a three
day “Bonus Hunt”. The Bonus Hunt will be a “back-to-back” hunt with the
previous hunt, and will begin at the time and date that the previous
hunt ended, thus extending the hunt for another three days. The Bonus
Hunt will be a Basic Hunt package, and will be for the same species as
the previous hunt. The hunter may, if he desires, purchase an add-on
species for the Bonus Hunt (at the cost listed on the Booking page) to
expand his opportunities. Should the hunter be unable to extend his
previous hunt with the three-day Bonus Hunt, but rather needs to
reschedule his Bonus Hunt for another time, such is permitted, but there
will be a rescheduling charge of $100, payable at the time of
rescheduling. The rescheduled Bonus Hunt must be accomplished within one
year of the termination date of the unsuccessful purchased hunt, or the
Bonus Hunt is forfeited. Rescheduling of the Bonus Hunt may be
accomplished by using the scheduling feature of the Buffalo Mountain
Hunts web site. BISON: For hunters who purchase hunts for Bison
from Buffalo Mountain Hunts, we guarantee that the guide SHALL provide
the hunter with a reasonable shot upon a qualifying bison, and the hunt
will continue until such shot is provided, for a maximum of six days.
These Guarantees are not transferable.
