Hey all you
Saltwater fishermen, here's a great post from the saltwater
chat. Great stuff from great people. Get a Kid out fishing.
Preserve our heritage and guide our youth in the right direction. Ah I love those words, That usually means some angler with a hot stick is hooked up and is going to hand it off to a kid on a charter. Taking your son or daughter on a charter is a real experience for them. Some pointers on taking kids on a charter, Motion Sickness pills, kids and seasickness is the bad news, and you think they whine now. Never Never let them fish with an expensive reel and rod, I watched a Penn International and A Seeker Rod go into the Pacific Ocean, when the boy hooked up. The boy felt really bad but Dad was okay with it. Coach them when they do get hooked up, sometimes there is the teenage thing, where Dad is the biggest dumb a$$, time for the deckhand to help out. Deckhands are very good with the kids. Often times a deckhand will fish along with paying customers, when he hooks up they hand it off to the kid on board and coach him through. I call this excellent customer service. Good luck. Thanks Spuds for idea to post this.
