Score Tip:
Setting Your Zero
There are as many ways to zero your rifle’s scope as
there are for excuses of why you need another rifle.
Working at a gunshop I have heard hundreds of ways and secret formulas
for a quick zero.
Here’s one for you that’s easy and simple.
Take a friend with you to the range. Set your target up at 25 yards and fire one shot.
Open and make sure your rifle is EMPTY.
Now while you continue to look through your scope, put the cross hairs on
the bullet hole. Hold your rifle
steady as possible and have your friend turn the elevation knob until the cross
hairs cut the bullseye in half. Now have your friend do the same with the windage knob.
If you have been able to hold the rifle steady the cross hairs should be
dead center on the bullseye and with your next shot.
Make sure the rifle and range is safe and move your target out to 100
yards and repeat the process. If
done properly you can zero almost any rifle in four shots.
