Unused Deer Tag Well, Another year has passed and I find myself with another unused Archery deer tag. I think it was about 9:00pm December the 31st when I sat in my trailer just South of the town of Cordes and started talking to my wife Dorina and good friend Rick about going through another year of not tagging a deer. As the conversation continued we started bringing up the old stories of the deer that got away. You know, that time when you spotted a deer about an hour before the sun went down and by the time you got close enough for a shot there wasn’t enough light to see your sights. Or the one that you stalked on for hours just to have a doe spot you. Or the one that was standing on the other side of a bush and instead of walking into a clearing just turned around and walked away without giving you a clean shot. As the night went on and the stories were told I couldn’t help thinking of how much fun we all had. Having my own shop I get the chance to talk to thousands of hunters every year. Some successful and some not but there is one thing that every hunter has. That’s right, Stories! Stories are the one thing that you will have whether you’re successful or not. Have on that you want to share? Send it in. Archery@azod.com I wish all of you the best of luck in 2002. -Curtis Team AZOD Archery Editor
