UPDATE ON TORNEO DE LOS VENADOS 

On Saturday the 6^th of January Russell Willis brought a beautiful 3x3 buck into the store that measured over 27 inches wide. The buck was not officially measured at the time, as Russell wanted to get him in the freezer. For the 2001 season this is the only buck turned in so far. I’ll have pictures and an official score as soon as they are available.

It looks as though Russell is leading in a couple of categories as of now. Russell is a lifetime member of both the Hassyampa Bowhunters Club and the Arizona Bowhunters Association and a heck’ve a good hunter. If you ever get a chance to visit with Russell you should. He’s a great guy and lots of fun to be around. I talked to Russell just before the season started and wished him luck, and ask if he had any good bucks spotted? He just looked at me, smiled, and said not really. This is the true nature of Russell; I’ve never heard him brag on himself. But if you ask him about his two girls, that’s a different story.
