Deer Poached In White Tank Mountains

A mule deer buck was poached in the White Tank Mountains near Phoenix Sept. 25 or 26 and the Arizona Game and Fish Department is offering up to a $300 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons involved.

Wildlife Manager Mark Stewart said that a 3-point mule deer buck was poached in the vicinity of the Case Proving Grounds located approximately 1.5 miles north of the Jackrabbit Trail dead end along the eastern side of the White Tank Mountains. Initially, the head was left behind and the body was taken. Some time around Oct. 5, the head was taken.

“We would like anyone with any information on this case to call our Operation Game Thief line at 1-800-352-0700. Callers can remain anonymous and still qualify for the reward,” Stewart said.
