Casting for Kid’s
Wickenburg’s Desert Splash Bass Club, along with the
Arizona Bass Federation have once again held it’s annual "Casting
for Kids" competition July 4th at Ralph Moran Field. Todd
Laughlin, of Wickenburg, claimed top honors in the 7-10 year old division,
while Andrew Piniewski, of Surprise, won in the 11-14 year olds. Both have
now qualified for the state competition where they can earn a spot at the
regional semi’s, and from there, a chance to go to the BassMaster
Classic for the national competition.

2 Million sac-fry release
Canyon
and Apache lakes recently received 2 million sac-fry
walleye from the Arizona game and fish department.
Walleye were introduced into several lakes in Arizona as an
experiment.
As it turned out this experiment was very successful.
The fish thrive in our warmer waters but are unable to reproduce.
