Elk Calling Seminar The other night AZOD and Modern Call Product loaned out our Louie Urquides to Corner Archer for an Elk Calling Seminar. I was on hand to watch the fun as Louie interacted with the crowd of 87 hunters and of course a few spouses and kids. Corner Archery handed out a bunch of door prizes and offered some great discounts to the crowd.
John Murphey, a pro staff shooter for Corner Archery, Martin and Modern Call Products handled the MC responsibilities as well as helping me pick on Louie The main theme of Louie’s seminar was versatility and mobility. How to make one or two hunters sound like a bunch of elk and the different types of calls you can use . It’s really hard to write about all the area’s covered. There are just to many situations and types of calls. Why use a calf call? Why try to draw in the lead cow? Why a distressed calf call is irresistible to the lead cow? Why try to imitate an inferior bull instead of a mature one. Why should I beat a tree with a branch. The list of questions goes on and on as do the answers. Draw in the boss cow and you will bring a hot cow in with a rutting bull in tow. Louie did his best to tell it all and answered many questions from the audience as well as show how to bite and blow the calls. The corner archery crowd also did a great job of hosting and delivering expert advice to their customers. Great Job Corner Archery and a high five to Louie. Darn I hate to make this guys head swell, I’m running out of hat sizes. The Great Staff at Corner Archery Rhonda Crabtree; Barb, Steve and Geoff Blumenthal; Rich Grieger; Grea Godbehere; Scott Huxsaho; Russ and Stacey McKnight; Teri Kavanaugh; Cal and Jane Smith, and kids; Guk Romero and Eric Bennett. If you were there this is where you might fine your handsome mug, or in the case of the ladies, beautiful face in the crowd. Nice to see ya Arizona Robert Glenn Willis AZOD
