Elk Foundation’s 2001 Elk Hunt Seminars The Phoenix area chapters of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will be holding two elk hunting seminars this month. The Phoenix chapter will hold their 3rd Annual Elk Hunt Seminar on Wednesday, August 22nd, at the Phoenix Mountain Preserve Reception Center, 1431 E. Dunlap. The Red Mountain chapter will hold their 6th Annual Elk Hunt Seminar the following evening, Thursday, August 23rd, in Mesa at the Mesa Hilton Pavilion, N.E. corner of Alma School Road and the Superstition Freeway. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for both seminars, with the programs starting at 6:30 p.m. Admission cost is $10 and children 16 and under are free. Proceeds from these events will help support the Elk Foundation’s effort to conserve wildlife habitat, which in Arizona includes 271 projects totaling 220,000 acres at a cost of $5.2 million. The seminars are held to assist hunters with their upcoming archery, muzzleloader, and rifle elk hunts. Topics to be discussed include elk behavior, early and late season hunting tactics, calling techniques, field care, and taxidermy tips. See exciting video footage of close encounters with elk!!!
